And we came to China with the BB over the 4700 m high Kunjerab pass, the inclinations of the road were not bad but the quality was bad to the last meter, and then on the Chinese side every changed what a happiness ?A good asphalt road
The first stop at the costume took time because there was a bus before us.The officers all well uniformed did there job very carefully. Everything told us that we have arrived to a new country. With us it went more fast, they wanted to know the nationality of the BB , and Brazil said very little to them, it was surely the first Brazilian car who passed there.
On a smooth asphalt road we went to nearest town a 100 km away to the main custom house, and here we found out that our guide has not arrived. But we had a telephone contact with him, if he could get a flight he could be here to morrow, and they after some discussion we were allowed to stay at there parking lot, they told us that it could be very cold at night, and wanted us to go to a hotel, what a difference from the heat at New Delhi only 10 days ago
And then righting this two young people a girl and a boy arrived telling that the girl would be our
new guide, Jason has changed it so, the policemen have surly spoken hard to him. They are now working on the papers wile we are waiting.
It should be possible to reach the town Kashgar to day here the time is different and it is day until 9 o clock. And here we should bring the BB in good shape again
But things changed rapidly, our guide girl Sisi is here name could tell us that a earthquake very big has happened during the last days so that the custom could only attend us after the weekend, two days lost. They wanted us to place the BB in a closed yard , and again they wanted us in a hotel, but Sisi managed them to let us sleep in the BB, and so we did the first night.Next day we went to the town very beautiful to have taken photos for my new driver license, but coming back we found the yard closed. And an uniformed officer told us to take our stuff and go to a hotel in 10 minutes, well and so we did, and here I am now righting this.
Yester day I hoped to go to an internet bar to post this but was told that strangers could not do it in this frontier city, better luck in the next town Kashigar 350 km from here.

21-05-2008The 14 the of May we left India and reentered Pakistan at the same Waga Border and was received by ours old friends special Rail who was ready to help and so he did,My plan was to repair the window who broke with a plexyglas, and in no time, that is the same we managed to put in a new one, and already the next morning we took off. Also in Pakistan it was hot in the lowland only the first parking place one thousand meter up the temperature went down to a normal level after nearly two months heat.It was difficult to find the road to China, who was in a bad condition 600 km of potholes, but of cause the rest was just fantastic.Technical we had bad luck and this on a road like this, the battery gave trouble, we could not start in the morning, had to ask for help to push it. It was time to get a new battery, but was that possible here? In a small town I thought to find one ,Pakistan fabrication, but oh after a big job it did not start the motor. But to have the man to take it back, I had not paid it, that started a discussion with all the men in the town, and they where many and I was blackmailed to pay the man 1000 Rubens for my freedom to get out of the town, Better to purchase a new one in China. On top of this there broke a leek in the escapement who felt the car with gas. Here we had better luck to find a good mechanic to arrange this it happened to be in the last town before China. So here we had to make the document control. The BB is in order but when it came to ours passports it was too late for to day only to morrow at eight o clock. What we was told is that there is a up hill of 80 km to 4700 meter and then a down hill of 120 kmThe arrangement with Jason is to be there the 22 th of May at it will be so..

By the end the Cinese embassy promissed our visas for Monday the 12th to pass all this dayes here in New Delhi, and still more two dayes , has been and is a bit off a hell, the heat in the daytime and the mosquitos at the night, specialy for Dora.

Jason was late in passing the invitationletter, and the telephone numbers to the embassy I got were wrong, just to get the correct numbers I had to wait 2 hours. But it seemes that the fax he finaly mannaged to pass solved our case. The date to enter China was put to the 20th of May, but we deside to change it to the 22th, It is rravel of more than 1000km.We have to repeat the road to Islamabad, but from there it is up and up over the Himalayas .

I will pass some photos showing the embassy city ,see all the soldiers surely at least ten times more than needed. And the barbed wire rolls around the Chinese embasy.

Well we did Varanasie, it was a hell of a job to get in and out of the city. You wonder the way the Indians treat their holy cities, they are holy for their pilgrims so why not do it a little easier to com and go? We paid a person to help us out again but even so he put us on the wrong way
OK we took a row boat trip on the Ganga River and took a lot of photos.
And we are now in New Delhi, where we have had luck to find a good parking on the back road of the Siri Lanka embassy a clean and calm place. We arrived on May the first and found all the embassies closed, but the day after Friday we managed to arrange with the Pakistan, where we had to contact the Brazilian and Danish embassies in order to get a letter from them, and after that go to two banks to pay the fees. The embassies lies in very big area, so we had to do a lot of rickshaws s driving, and it is getting hotter every day.
To day is Sunday, a day to kill, what if there just was a swimming pool nearby? There is a tap with water very used by the soldiers making protection of the embassies.
Bad luck was it that my Kodak camera broke, luck was that we found a market place only11 km from here with a Kodak dealer an some good shops. To find food our type has been a problem since Iran
My first contact with the Chinese embassy was not easy, I had to go away and get in contact with Jason, I had to print out an Email from him to show at the embassy, at the same time I asked Jason to fax to the embassy and tell our story.
